Marco Antonio Barrera Picks Marquez Over Manny Pacquiao

    Ricardo Lois
    1/24/2008

Ernesto Castellano, top notch boxing writer for Mexican news source Esto, reports that former three division world champion Marco Antonio Barrera is picking fellow Aztec Juan Manuel Marquez over Manny Pacquiao this March 15.
Barrera, who suffered two losses against Pacquiao and one against Marquez during his illustrious career, provided the following statements to CastellanoÂ…
"I am definitely with Marquez. I think he will win. I am not saying this because we are both Mexicans, I say this because in terms of boxing, I am convinced this will happen."
Barrera, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, has been rumored to return to the ring during 2008 for a farewell bout.

I might change my pick once I review more fights and take some time to really break this down.

Yea and in case you forgot he and Morales despise eachother, and he lost to Marquez.

Do you guys ever stop making up bull****? He didnt couple his prediction with complaints about an unfair judging score, or say that in his prime he takes Pac out. He simply made a prediction, and not an unreasonable one.

    Take it as it is.

I agree with acb here. Let MAB take his pick for whatever reason he has. You can also take your pick. :good

I really can't care less how many times he has been wrong. There are people who are paid to do the job and are consistantly wrong and fighters in general are terrible predictors of fights.

He put his ass on the line in the ring for years as one of the best pro fighters of his generation and for that reason alone people are going to ask him for predictions- not to mention he is the only man to face both opponents as of late.
