Just two questions, how does barrera become number 1 ranked by the WBO after doing nothing? and why take the fight?

anyways as i'm a huge barrera fan i'll go for barrera by split decsion.

the same way Linares gets to fight for 130 title without ever had a fight at the weight and after one year on the sidelines.

    these organizations are a joke.

there was a poll out the other day and the results showed that the WBO is a better title than the WBC, with fights like this being made i can't see the logic behind that.

Wow, fantastic news for Barrera fans. If he looks terrible, he should pack it up for good, but this a win that could improve his legacy significantly.

I'll be cheering for barrera, but no bold predictions on my part.

MAB should retire. BTW why did MAB leave Golden Boy?

I personally rate the WBC over them all, they are a clever company, orite berto shouldn't be champ, but he fought the WBC contendors and got lucky when floyd retired. in the other divsion they mostly have the correct champions.

Featherweight Champ: could soon become yuriorkis gamboa

Super Featherweight : vacant, humberto soto number 1 contendor

    Lightweight : Manny Pacquiao

Super Lightweight : Timothy Bradley, good up and coming fighter

    Jr Middleweight : Vernon Forrest

    Middleweight : Kelly Pavlik

Super Middleweight : could be froch, pascal or taylor in the near future

As much as I would like Barrera to stay retired I am getting pumped up just to read about this.

As Barrera still has something left in the tank, MAB by close UD.

Barrera is in better shape than Roy Jones Jr was prior to the Calzaghe fight, and a lot of people here felt Jones was going to win. I don't want to see my favourite fighter get humilated, but what I saw against Marquez let me to believe he could be more than competitive with Campbell, who I feel is living off the win over Diaz. If Barrera is humilated, I'll go back on my words and plead that he retire, but he should be given the opportunity to become the first Mexican fighter to win titles in 4 different weight classes. I so hope he can do it.

Barrera is on one time winning streak ... he deserves shot as anybody else.
