Fantastic fight for the ages.

 

Let's not forget they were the same age and Marquez had been fighting his way up the ranks waiting for his shot at the big guns for years

Marquez won that fight 8-4, he was the aggressor and landing the better punches and adjusted down the stretch making Barrera go into his shell

UNDERRATED WIN!!!!!

 

I agree, it's often overlooked, when in reality Barrera was making the case right then and there that his career was far from over and his skills far from disappearing.

Great fight.

 

Actually Barrera was younger than Marquez .
Marquez started his career relatively late due 2 a problem in his back and who knows if it ever fully healed .
