it is widely agreed upon that the greatest mexican fighters of all time is ofcourse julio caesr chavez, but number 2 has always been up in debate. two likely candidates would be the legendary left hook fighter ruben oliveras who was the original kingpin in mexico back in the 70's and marco antonio barrera who is proving himself through longevity and through bettering his rival erik morales in a three fight series. of course erik morales is quite different then chu chu castillo.... but so was junior jones from bobby chacon who would win if they ever fought?
Great match up! Barrera would be able to outbox Olivares, but he is too brave for his own good. Barrera never walked away from a brawl in his life. A well timed left hook from "rock-a-bye Ruben" would bring a sudden halt to a terrific slugfest.
Barrera just because he's the better and more consistent guy overall, Olivares, like Duran liked to slip away from training most of the time.
