According to ESTO (who's info is from MAB's brother, Jorge Barrera) this bout is almost a done deal for November 7. Kobori is the 'regular' WBA LW champ therfore a win over him would make Barrera the first Mexican to win world titles in 4 divisions. Of course it's no more legit than Morales' try (Casamayor was stripped and David Diaz was named champ for that fight - great job by Mr. Sulaiman, Kobori at least KO'd Alfaro (not controversially) for the 'regular' WBA title which became vacant when Juan Diaz unified and became 'super WBA champion'. :patsch

So what do you think? The fight would be in China on Don King's show. Can Barrera beat the young Japanese or he'll fail to capture that 4th title just like Julio Cesar Chavez and Erik Morales?

    Ex-Barrera fan here...

...I'll never spend another dollar on 1 of his fights after his refusing to give Juarez fight, because as MAB said "He didn't deserve it..."

MAB can eat a d*ck all day, because his fans who spent $50 to watch him fight deserved it...Juarez isn't the one who had to foot the $50...

...if he fights on subscription HBO or Showtime I'll only watch it if it's a good enough opponent and the boards are slow that night on ESB...and I'd just record it and only watch it if, I hear it was good.

No suprise to see Barrera trying to do something that Morales `failed` at.

No suprise to know that I hope he hurts himself badly & loses in the process.

    And thats that, cheers.

Yes, the 1st fight was the type of fight that warranted a rematch, with many declaring we had the next great trilogy on our hands...

...then MAB refuses to engage for the most part in the rematch, and makes comments in the press about how Juarez didn't deserve a war...killing any thought of a triliogy, the fight sucked...and it was a PPV, sold on MAB's rep and Juarez' desire to be on that level...MAB hurt boxing on that night, I watched it with a large group, and it stunk.

In the days of MMA PPVs...on the rare occassion when you can get people together to watch boxing, usually when a name fighter is competing... we don't need fighters stinking up the place like MAB did.

MAB is lucky to be with Don King now, he can sell anything...even **** fights, like MAB likes to put on now.

Personally, I didn't expect much of MAB after the first Juarez fight. I don't remember my scorecard of the first fight but I do remember it was highly controversial and deserved a rematch.
And then, MAB said he wanted to "beat" Juarez with his left hand only. Which he probably did of course in a boring fight.

To sign 5 years with King, Barrera must have fallen quite low. He won't get any credit by beating a pseudo champ at 135. To be the man, you have to beat the man. That man could be Manny Pacman Pacquiao (whom he lost badly twice) or Nate Campbell (he better stay away from him).
Anyway, MAB is losing all credibility. I wonder what mexicans think of him right now.

I don't know much about Kobori and I don't know what Barrera has left so this is a hard fight to gauge. I would think that Barerra and King have done their homework and chosen someone he can beat. If Barerra grabs a belt than couple that with his name and he'll be in big ppv fights next year. Just please, no more Pacquaio matches.

Barrera is still a very accurate puncher despite being way off his prime . . . . Yusuke Kubori is a class B fighter at best . . . MAB wins this fight if it happens.

Stick to MMA kid, you're no boxing fan. You just like to see people getting hit. In fact, stay away from MMA too, because you'll just boo when it goes to the ground. Go to ebaum and look at the streetfight clips.
