Yeah, its silly seeing people make the claim that Jr dominated. Makes me think they were just trashing Rubio cause GGG was fighting him even though they never actually watched the fight.

I can accept a draw, it was a close hard fight. If either guy had an average chin there would have been a KO.

IB already did a thread along these lines and I tend to agree - at 160 it's hard to find a more legitimate and proven challenger than MAR, though on first announcement I was a little disappointed.

IB beat me to it, which I mentioned on his thread, but I figured I could expand on it with video evidence of how decent he really is.

Worthwhile from both of you. I for one (and I suspect many others) had just kinda mentally pidgeonholed Rubio into 'gatekeeper' rather than 'contender' status largely due to his longevity at just below the top tier, without really thinking much about his overall record and achievements.

it wont matter the ggg haters will call rubio a bum regardless so the whole ggg's comp is **** will continue.I know rubio's a tough customer but I still pick ggg to destroy rubio not because I think he sucks but because golovkin's is so much better then anyone at 160.

Rubio skillwise is no match but I think it will go the distance or the towel thrown in.

I am personnally intringued at the Rubio-GGG fight. Some people say Rubio is not worth fighting GGG. Well than GGG is probably way better then I think because to me Rubio is a strong fighter who can punch.

At least he will not pull a disgraceful quit job like that glass jawed bum Daniel Geale.

Rubio is durable, and will take a good beating from GGG before retiring in his corner.

Quit job? Go watch his fight with Pavlik again. I think he's improved since then, but let's not go re-writing history.

against any other current middleweight rubio is 50/50 at worst but totally outclassed by golovkin. too tough for his own good in this one. i hope he doesn't get seriously hurt.

I think he's responding to a claim that Geale quit against Golovkin not about Pavlik - Rubio.
