Marco Antonio Rubio vs. Matt Vanda & Javier Fortuna vs. Miguel Roman RBR

Round 1

Fortuna whips out a right jab and then holds his right arm low, swinging at his side. Lead left to the body by Fortuna while sliding back off to the side and keeping range. Roman tries to pin him down with a high left jab and right hand shot over the top. Fortuna is ducking and grabbing whenever Roman charges in with head shots on his mind. Fortuna is using some quick upper body motion on the inside, weaving through Roman's shots and flicking out fast counters - many missing but some landing. Roman is down to a knee from a body shot!! Up at siete from Cortez. Fortuna wiggles his shoulders, watching Roman with that right arm held very low. BIG left hand lead to the belly by Fortuna. Whipping right hook. Another left to the stomach. Left uppercut, right hand, left hand by Fortuna.

That would be my guess.

 

Round 2

Roman misses some lazy left jabs as Fortuna counters with his right and moves like a meter needle from side to side. Quick shots from Fortuna on the outside, but a bit messy and not really placing his shots knuckle-first on the target. A lot of cuffing of Roman's head with the inside of his forearms and bottom of his wrists, especially when throwing left hooks. Roman walks up to him and leans into him, throwing a slew of overhands but hitting nothing but shoulder. A few body shots up close by Roman, but Fortuna answers back with quicker and harder ones before they tangle up and then separate.

Yep. This is starting to look like Caballero-Barros I a little bit.

Tall smooth guy not letting himself box long like he ought to vs. squat little guy who's pressuring ineffectively and not taking advantage once inside.

 

Round 3

Scrappy opening minute, with very frequent clinch breaks called by Joe Cortez. Roman is trying to work the body inside but Fortuna is skipping back to try and pull the chair out from under him. Right jabs to the body by Fortuna once outside. Low blow by Fortuna, accidental. Roman takes time to recover, and Fortuna bows respectfully to him from the neutral corner. Now Roman comes forward and tosses a hard overhand right, having had some life breathed into him. Fortuna trots in a big wide circle to his right, not engaging Roman on his terms. Fortuna is playing matador now, keeping barely off the ropes and slapping out with right hooks as Roman tries to cut off the ring. Left jab by Roman, and an up-and-down slapping combo by Fortuna up close.
