Fight at 160. Robinson at his best comes in under the limit at 155, while Rubio makes 160 but comes in at 178 or 180. Rubio may not be considered a great but he is a knock out puncher with a possible 20 plus pound weight advantage. Heavier than Maxim, and can crack.

Please no alleged red hearings, regarding Robinson on using modern rules or training to close the weight gap, or unproven theories of him rehydrating, he likely never weighed over 160 in his prime. Discuss this match between two middleweights.

    Robinson.

    Because Rubio sucks.

Nice to see you back Tommo, only a matter of time before you get banned.

Ray beat some guys who were 165 or 170. They were bums but it shows he can handle the weight.

Also Rubio has never been hit by the tiny gloves Ray uses (no theoreticals in which Ray has to use the giant pillows that Rubio does as Ray never fought with those). So Rubio gets busted up and stopped.

IF the fight is at 160 then they step on the scales at weigh in at ringside 1 min before the first round - that is the future. (or just do away with weight classes at all... )

Robinson by brutal Central Park style mugging in 4 or 5.

Yes, but Rubio isn't normally considered bum.

Maybe, but he also has a 50s sized heavyweight who can bang, throwing punches back at him.

Whatever the motives of this thread, Robinson demolishes him inside 5 rounds.

How many 180 pound world class fighters did Robinson demolish?

Weight's not the issue, class is.

Is this only when you like the smaller man and want him to win?

Ray Robinson is the GOAT, Rubio is not.

    Nuff said

Why does he only have one failed attempt at the light heavy title then?

If he could beat 180 pound men, why not even challenge Ezzard Charles or Marciano?

Weight classes must exist for a reason, is the thought of a legendary fighter losing to a lesser man over weight upsetting to you, it's kind of the way of these forums?

Well it's probably due to the fact that one fighter is infinitely better than the other.

Robinson was forced to retreat from Joey Maxim, he is lighter than Rubio with no power.
