Thanks man, I really like Steve, but there are so many key intangibles against him. Everytime Huck hits Steve's guard, the crowd will go nuts. Plus he fights with a lot of hyper energy that will also play in his favor cause it will look like he's doing more even if he is not landing quite as cleanly.
From the very little that I have seen, Cunningham times that jab well and fast, finding an opening with it when he wants to. But I think Huck's defensive jab and tight guard combo, on top of his good jab cross combo will make the difference. Cunningham doesn't seem to like it on the inside that much. If Huck plants that forhead against his opponent's and flurries those bodyshots, he should do well. I for one, on the scarce evidence in front of me, cannot see Cunningham planting his feet and bombing Huck. However, Cunningham seems unpredictable enough to cause the orthodox Huck problems so, Cunningham should survive the final bell. I cannot see Cunningham winning more than 4 rounds, though, so I have it Huck by 4, at least. :good
this is amazing its the first time ESB CANT DECIDE maybe the first time ever it's been equal in terms of peoples opinions. thing is it is either cunninghams running ability is either too slick and too fast for huck...or the other way round huck has too higher workrate and too strong for steve. cant wait. huck's style maybe perfect for cuningham or maybe huck style is perfect to override cunninghams....
I have only watched very little stuff - the stuff on youtube...I am not sure how much more than that a few of the other newbies who have voted have watched. This is a possible explanation for the results. Does someone have another *non-youtube link with these fighters?:think
Huck is the stronger fighter. Cunningham is a punch and clutch guy. And he can throw wide slapping punches at times. Huck doesn't clinch much and can explode when he chooses and he is strong late in a fight. I think the KO prop bet on Huck (If the line is right) or the UNDER 11.5 rounds play (+250) may be the way to go. :smoke :smoke
Huck is stiff, mechanical and this fight comes way too soon for him... He was a kick-boxer and taekwondo champion who had a very limited amateur career. He has been a disciplined learner as a professional, good at attacking in hard-hitting surges under Ulli Wegner's surveillance. Cunningham is not an especially hard hitter but he is an intelligent boxer, always in tremendous condition, who knows how to score points and is not likely to lose again so soon and specially against a 23 year older. The odds mean absolutely nothing but that there may be already some criteria to judge this fight and those have undeniably to do with punching impact.
augustus and dorfmeister 2 posters whose opinion i respect picking against huck and giving decent analysis why they think so. i am sticking with huck tonight though. cunningham has more variation /speed/combo`s/feet movement when he is on song (not the wlodrcyk fights i will look his name up and spell it correctly one day) than huck. huck i am relying on to have much more physical strength and be able to bully cunningham back to the ropes and when they engage shove him off with the elbows and give himself room to tee off. cunningham looks a little more slippery than i beleive he actually is, he moves his feet quick when out of distance when outside punching range , but once in punching range has a stationary head and can be teed of on by the right hand. has a good chin though as fight against jones showed, and huck is heavy handed not a 1 punch hitter. boils down to me can huck make cunningham fight his fight or can cunningham get in and out and around while letting his hands go and having to swallow a few bombs and keep coming to do so. i am counting inintagibles a bit in my pick. that huck has a solid chin and can walk through cunninghams shots which after about 4 rounds are strictly arm punches with little power. can hucks pressure and workrate shut down cunninghams own workrate and faster handspeed intimidating cunningham a bit. the crowd swaying the judges to what huck is doing. all in all a good fight and if cunningham fights like he did v rothman where he dominated despite what the cards said then it will be a *******. still think huck will win on strength /workrate/power /will to win but now i have seen more of cunningham fight today it has evened up a bit in my mind. i have said 117-111 earlier. change that now to 115-113 huck.
Quite right to stick with Huck, I think. He weighs more than Cunningham. He will probably try to bully Cunningham against the ropes. Cunningham will bank on speed and jabbing and moving out of the way, I think. But if it's 115-113 to Huck, it means Cunningham won it by 3-4... Don't think there's a chance of Huck being stopped. The lower weight for Cunningham should make for a closer fight, I think, because it might mean a lower relative workrate for Huck. I don't see Huck stopping Cunningham either...I am sticking with Huck by 4. Let's wait and see. Hope Cunningham doesn't get robbed tonight, though.
cunningham is used to weighing less but huck is a big cruiserweight who boils down to make weight unlike say mormeck/macranelli /cunningham who are natural cruisers to big for light heavy but to small for heavy. huck by fight time will most probably be 210 and have a 18lb advantage and in the type of tactics he should and usually employs it will wear out cunnigham who can be manhandled on the inside i beleive. 3 hours to go.
