According to various reports, this matchup is in the works for early 2012 in Germany. This will be a cracking fight if it happens! :good
Reading his last few quotes it seems to me that he is close to agreeing to a fight with Vitali, it certaily seems like a serious option anyway. The way I see it that fight is far more likely than facing David Haye.
:rofl There's nothing "serious" about Huck vs. either Klitschko. :nut He probably won't even get past the Old Tomcat here.
But Vitali's manager Bonte has said their other options for March 3 are Arreola and Dimitrenko if Haye isn't willing. There has been talk of Arreola-Wlad, but Chris is ranked WBC #1 right now and may be declared Vitali's mandatory. The Huck-Vitali fight may happen, but later in the year or in 2013. There are current negotiations between Don King and Sauerland for the Huck-Jones fight. According to "the scene" Jones is travelling to the US to meet with King about it.
wow jones actually stays busy! respect! Would be a hell of a fight! Guillermo jones is pretty good and underrated! But u never know! huck can punch
No more than anywhere else. Geale was treated fairly when he fought another Sauerland boxer (Sylvester). I've seen far more robberies in the US the past year or two: Lara-Williams, Kotelnik-Alexander, Marquez-Pacquiao, etc.
The tricky thing is this doesn't help Huck avoid a Lebedev rematch. Lebedev is now the WBA mandatory (as the "interim champ") in addition to being the WBO mandatory. But I suppose Huck could claim he "unified" the titles and move to heavy straight after. I had thought Jones was looking to move to heavy as well? Maybe they figure this win would/will get him an immediate K2 retirement payday. Huck has to be the favorite right? How much does Jones have left?
Yes, whoever wins will likely be looking for a Klitschko shot. If Huck wins, the WBA won't force him to fight Lebedev. Sturm has never had to fight Golovkin.
