Godfrey looks well out of his depth. This could be a Klitschko-Johnson affair. Hope not. Huck to get him outta there before round 6.
Rodriguez prowling around the fighters like a cat on the hunt, waiting to break them if the situation calls for it.
Round 2 Huck throws a chest-level shovel hook that Godfrey ducks, and he grabs Huck about the waist. They clinch again in similar fashion moments later. Godfrey is again trying to stifle Huck with his busy but snapless gnat-like jab. Godfrey literally waves his right hand in a circular motion in front of Huck's nose and Huck angrily jabs over it, causing the crowd to erupt. Godfrey slides backwards on his feet and holds Huck off with his hyperactive jab, but isn't landing it. Huck charges Godfrey into a corner but doesn't land anything. Godfrey blocks a Huck jab and then backs into a corner. Huck clubs with a right hand that hits mostly shoulder as Godfrey ducks against the turnbuckle. Godfrey now running backward. Huck shuffles after him and places his left hand against Godfrey's face to line him up with a right hand. Godfrey is in trouble and rolls on the ropes but Huck tags him again with an overhand right and drops him. 10-8 Huck
Round 3 Godfrey is not showing signs of intimidation, coming right at Huck with his wavy jab. Huck blocks and plods. Godfrey isn't landing with his jab and Huck isn't throwing anything. A Godfrey lead left is blocked. Finally Huck shows signs of life and reaches out with his left hand but abandons the assault when Godfrey skips out of range. Big lunging right hand by Huck sends Gofrey slamming into the ropes. Huck swarms him with another flurry of short punches and down he goes again. Godfrey is down for a lot more than ten seconds - perhaps there was a low blow? The replay shows that there clearly was. Godfrey recovers and begins shaking his jab at Huck again. Huck has cooled off and is back to blocking and plodding (backwards now). So that is NOT a 10-8 round.
