Marco Huck vs. Rogelio Omar Rossi & Dominick Britsch vs. Billy Lyell RBR

I think Britsch gets tested more than he has in the past, but doesn't lose to Lyell.

 

Freight Train Walker is strolling out to the ring with a very small entourage, slowly shadowboxing with pantomimes of powerful uppercuts and enjoying his gangsta rap entrance theme. He looks like a brick house of a man as usual, with that scary bald Hagler look. A real monster - if only it weren't for that paper chin.

 

Mega-hyped (perhaps justifiably) prospect Kubrat Pulev is out to Thunderstruck by AC/DC. He gives several audience members fist bumps on his way to the ring. He is swinging his arms behind his back looking loose and ready, his broad leonine face betraying no emotion.

Very good boxer, not a lot of power but not feather fisted either. Fast.

 

Round 1

Walker lands a high jab. Pulev is coming forward, backing Walker up. Jabs land for Pulev, just reaching out casually and slapping Walker across the face with them. Walker is trying head movement but not escaping the jab. Low rips by Walker, hooking both arms in at Pulev's ribs. Walker tries to wave a jab in Pulev's face but the Bulgarian glides back out of the way effortlessly. Lead right lands for Pulev. Walker is unable to land when head hunting, overreaching and missing with his jab and falling very short with his right as Pulev glides away on his toes. Pulev pokes his jab out, doing a swimming stroke with his arms to keep Walker guessing. Nice right hand lead again by Pulev. Walker tries to clap his fists in from the side on Pulev's head up high, but gets parried and dodged.

Round 2

Walker is driving forward now with solid right hands behind his jab. Walker isn't connecting a lot but is forcing Pulev to back up swiftly and a bit ungainly, and grazing him with some of the rights. Pulev tries to counter with his 1-2 but Walker has found his rhythm with the head movement and is tipping over to the side to slip. Walker keeps slipping jabs and tapping the body. Pulev backs him off with a hard right hand, blocked but sending Walker back a few steps. Nice right hand by Pulev as Walker tries to come forward. Walker waits with his back to a corner, hands down at his sides and staring Pulev down with his mouth hanging open with an almost mocking expression. Hard clubbing right hand across the neck by Walker as Pulev gets his hands up to block. Another one.

20-18 Pulev, but better round for Travis.
