ok if khan is guaranteed 1.2 mil, then maidana should be looking at about 500k in my books. that would see him earn a career high payday whilst adequately reflecting the comparison of the two fighters.

since maidana beat ortiz he has took a huge step backwards culminating in edging past corley over 12 rounds.

since khan got knocked out off prescott he has looked nothing but impressive, yes ***an was ****, but barrera was a risk considering the loss khan just suffered. even disregarding that he had a far easier night vs kotelnik than witter, maidana or alexander, he made him look average. he destoryed his mandatory defence in one round, which really is the best possible outcome, and he outboxed paulie.

one has stagnated since his defining fight, the other has rose from strength to strength. maidana will rightfully be the underdog, he will rightfully be the lesser draw, he will rightfully be the challenger and he should rightfully receive less than khan.

IF it is tru that khan will get 1.2 mil, then for maidana to demand that money is ludicrous. i think we all hope maidana backs down and takes the fight.

hell if khan insists maidana is only entitled to 25% of the overall purse which would mean he gets 400k. maidana refusing this would then mean he gets stripped of his mandatory position much like povetkin did.

 

Maidana was interim champion before Khan even won the title you tit.

If Khan generates 7 million dollars a fight whenever he goes to England, he wouldn't just be asking for 1.2 million dollars per fight. He'd be asking for more. As of now, he ain't no Ricky Hatton. And if he ain't no Ricky Hatton, he ain't worth that much money.

Maidana's gonna have to step down from whatever he's asking for. The cash earned would have to pay for the television companies that air the show their share, the venue costs, promotion costs, undercard matches, etc etc etc.

Maidana's not Khan's equal in terms of drawing power. He does not deserve a 50/50 split down the middle at all.

 

I don't know what's true and what's not true, but Maidana better hope they come to terms before Sept 18th, because if they don't, and Ortiz comes out healthy and looking good, then he becomes a real option for Khan.

 

The split should be 70/30 Maidana should be happy with £500k thats around $700k.

The fact that Maidana been fighting on HBO for a little while now and building his name up, may help his cause slightly. Worst case scenario, this fight goes to purse bid and everybody gets less.... lol
