Marcos Maidana: Criminally Underrated Boxing Ability

    Something made me go back and watch Maidanas last 3 fights and I'm not sure if its the changed he's made with Robert Garcia or that he went up against "boxers" as opposed to brawlers but this guy is a hell of a boxer. Very Under Rated Boxer

    - Does a great job of setting Traps
    - Mixes up His offense extremely well
    - Protects himself well behind his jab (creates a small window)
    - Has a great jab
    - Reads fighters very well
    - Has a quick Jab
    - Doesn't fall for many traps (I think it's because he doesn't know what's going on)
    - his chin & boxing ability allows him to fight recklessly. Isn't worried about your game plan because he can take a punch and just wants to break you down, not place punches specifically

    Again I don't know if all of these are results of him fighting technical boxers who prefer to counter punch or these are real results bought by robert guerro but I'm looking forward to his next fights. This guy did some serious bad ass stuff in his past 3 fights.



    Also impressed with AB as well. He's a tough SOB but I'll save that for another thread.

    If Mayweather fights you twice in a year, that probably means you are in fact overrated, a tv toy for the hispanic audience and no more. He would never fight a truely great boxer twice. Canelo will easily knock him out if they ever fight.

    why not give maidana props, instead of having mayweathers name in your mouth. Look at floyds face after the 2nd maidana fight. It's probably the most swollen and beat up you've seen floyd in the past 10 fights.

    If maidana is as **** as you say, how come floyds face was a mess. Even if he did win comfortably.

    Underrated, yes. All this "caveman" and "plodder" stuff is BS. Maidana isn't some world beater but he's more technical than people give him credit for.

    I agree with the OP.
    Maidana might have struggled with Alexander and Khan, but his defense has improved tremendously since that bout, and he dished nearly as much punishment as he received vs PBF.

    Doesn't receive enough credit for the traps he sets. He'd probably beat Algieri.
