damn, per Dan Rafael's notebook, Maidana was offered the headlining fight of the Nov 26 BAD card against Soto. Maidana wasn't happy with the financial offer and instead is looking to go to England to fight McCloskey. :verysad Come on now. Maidana would have had a nice size advantage over Soto, there's no reason to give up an HBO date for McCloskey.
morales made the chinese latino scared of messsicans....maidana thought they were all gonna be like vicious vic....hahaha
Come on Maidana dont ruin my image of you, you dont have to be a morales level warrior (those are rare) but show some balls, start dropping fools left and right instead of being money focussed.
I just came to post this, Maidiana will never be the same Morales took his soul and confidence with that manly ass whooping, shittt I even forget Morales so called lost that fight.
Soto has always been avoided by top names. Guys like Maidana and Rios only wanted to fight Soto, when they knew Soto was not fully rested and/or fully trained/im shape to fight. Rios wanted to fight Soto in Feb. 2011, just 2 months after Soto had fought Antillon in Dec. 2010, cause Rios knew that Soto would not be %100% rested. But when Soto said he'll fight Rios later this year, Rios says nothing. Maidana wanted to fight Soto with only 10 days' notice given to Soto last month, in Aug., but would not fight Soto when Soto is 100%.
All this time, Aztecas was an Uncle Oden alt? (or vice versa) Seriously now. atsch I like Soto, and think Maidana is a) overrated by those who have him #2 or 3 @ 140, b) ducked the rematch with Morales (but might be keen for it now after seeing Morales slip back a step against Cano), c) would decisively lose a rematch with Khan, d) would have lost to Guerrero and e) needs to settle matters with Matthysse (as pros) now that his countryman has achieved a high profile, and if it doesn't happen in 2012 it will have been a duck... BUT, there is no way Maidana is afraid of Soto or "ducking" him for any reason other than the surface one given: dollars & sense.
Sure there is. McCloskey just beat Prescott, apparently putting him on course for a rematch with Khan. If Maidana knocks off McCloskey first, maybe he'll be getting a rematch instead. He's passing up a small to medium payday now for a chance at a big pay day. Oh, and whether he faces Soto or McCloskey, he'd probably win.
To back up what IB said above, Rafael said in his chat that this was a pretty poor offer financially.
Um, didn't Maidana offer Soto a shot at him when he was looking for a replacement for Guererro? Maybe, just maybe, they really did offer Maidana a **** deal.
