Someone here compared him to Glen Johnson and I agree. Johnson has won 1 fight against Tarver which increased his status a lot but other than that he has lost every major fight and he had a lot of opportunities. Same with Maidana, he got famous for beating Ortiz. IMO he got a bit lucky against Ortiz.

Same thing was said about Alexander after he was convinsingly beaten by Kotelnik, Bradley and Matthysee (apart from in the eyes of nuthuggers) in three consecutive bouts.

maidana needs to stay at 140 really, he aint ever going to be elite level but he certainly could do damage to some world level boxers should he land a big right on their cranium in the future - ask Ortiz and Khan about it.

I thought McCloskey had a good shot at beating him provded he fought smartly instead of that shitty showboating exhibition attempt against Prescott, but finished at the top level? there are more top guys he could beat

I don't know how you guys manage to score the fight for Morales. I tried as hard as I can and still scored it for Maidana

Johnson beat RJJ and Tarver in the same year and was voted fighter of the Year. Moreover he was robbed in a couple of fights. He is a level above Maidana

he's a slugger how far could that type of fighting really go, the elite boxers with speed and pop will always beat him. rios is the only real deal slugger that can fight a fast strong fighter like devon.

Props to Maidana! He fought in Alexander's hometown @ 147 pounds! 10 rounder... You're right about Maidana's skill level but the man has made a living out of pro boxing with not much athletic ability! I applaud him for that... Alexander handed him his ass and he just kept coming forward! SICK ****ER.. :yep

You might have more athletic ability and more skill in boxing than maidana! The thing is Maidana's balls are bigger than your head! That's why you're bad mouthing Marco's on a website and not trading leather in the ring! To put it nicely.. You're a 1970's ***** without the hair! :hi:
