I'm a fan of both, but theres little doubt that a prime JLC would grind down Chino, and stop him late. Just a much better overall figher. Its a shame Hatton got hold of him when JL was on the downside, people may forget but in his prime he was an excellent fighter.
about says it all right there. best lightweight (ok, MAYBE top 3 at worst) of the decade vs a guy known mostly for exposing ortiz in a fight he certainly wasn't dominating
140 isn't Castillo's best weight as far as physical advantages go, but I suspect that he'd take anything Maidana dished out and grind him down with his sharpshooting accuracy and combination punching.
Look at what Castillo did to Mayweather. He won the 1st fight by a few rounds in my view. I don't buy the shoulder injury bull****. Mayweather couldn't handle Castillo's work rate at that stage of his career and didn't like the swarming body punching. Maidana is a naturally bigger man and has a great KO record but is fairly one dimensional. Castillo in his prime would have swarmed all over Maidana and would have had too much quality. Castillo by a wide'ish mjority decision for me.
Is JLC considerable for being in the HOF? I wouldn't be surprised if him, Corrales, and Castillo get in. I haven't seen much of either man so I can't say. I wish there was more footage of both men(especially Castillo) on youtube.
Dont Just say "Not really". Tell me why I'm wrong. Have you seen Mayweather v Castillo 1 at light weight? Castillo started as a featherweight. Maidana is a career Light welter.
Golden boy will have one judge paid off, although wasn't Maidana talking about leaving Oscar, did that happen? It was my wedding aniversary tonight and we had a couple of bottles of wine over dinner in a restaurant and on reflection a sober version of me would have written "unnanimous".
