Well said, agreed on all counts.

That said, I would have to pick Maidana by stoppage based on Khan having such a low level of punch resistance. Khan is the "better" fighter, but I I have to pick the puncher's chance in this one as Maidana can bang and Khan can't take it.

 

Khan would have hell in this match. I think he could maybe pull through if he really made use of his surprisingly great jab, long reach and good movement. He would have to fight with perfect discipline and tactics, because Maidana is like a little beast. This is also the best time to be sparring with Pacman as much as possible.

 

Its very clear on this thread that people have only seen one Maidana fight , and that was against the new golden boy who was clearly unested , watch the fight against Kotelnik , and think again , Khan wins this one very easy , Maidana is very very one dimensional.

 

The one dimension that Maidana has is exactly the kind of dimension that can put Khan on the canvas for the evening. This is a case where I would have my money on the worse fighter just based on the fact that his one strength meshes perfectly with his opponent's (the better fighter) great weakness. Khan has virtually no punch resistance and Maidana can bang. That's all Maidana needs to do. Bang away. Land flush and go home early.

Edit: You are correct, however, that Victor Ortiz was rather untested. In fact, Ortiz has been shown to have both a glass chin and a glass heart.

Ortiz had him in big trouble its just Ortiz ran out of steam and gave up. This guy lost to Kotelnik. Not to say just because a beat b and c beat a dont mean c beats b but i dont really think Maidana is that good. Wide open slow easy to hit. Khan is very fat and very good and well managed by Roach. Khan will not make Ortiz's mistakes.

 

This fight will never happen.

If Khan does get through this one, then he certainly wins over a new set of fans

 

i seriously hope this fight happens, and i will be rooting for maidana. but if khan pussies out i will lose what little respect that i have for him, so that the next time he gets in the ring, i will hope he gets injured so that he can't waste my time again.
