Maidana got robbed vs Kotelnik, and lost a close decision to Khan. Kotelnik is a skilled technician who beat Alexander more clearly than he beat Maidana. Took heavy shots, and probably the best pressure fighter in that division. He would kill Alexander.
Maidana Vs. Ortiz II is next. (maybe?) (BTW, I never noticed Victor's "toothpick like" legs before last night...)
robbed? You forgot to mention that Maidana barely beat a shot Corley. Some had Corley winning and the Argentinian TV station had it a draw.
Maidana will KO other top guys in this division. others dont have the conditioning, heart and skills of khan. ortiz better stay away from maidana, see ortiz has the skills but not the right mental strenght or intelligence to use his skills to best effect. he doesnt have much heart, doesnt use his advatanges, struggles to box smart a lot of the times. frusrtated the hell out of me last night,he had the power to KO peterson, and peterson didnt have enough power anyway. But he didnt go for broke and KO him,and didnt box himself to KO him either, didnt jab, didnt use smart combinations, stood like a crab and punched in tht stance.
That would be a good rematch but I dont think Victor wants to fight somebody that has a gun Tattoed in his stomach again.
i think Maidana's style will cause nightmares of Khan in any fight wherever so a Maidana vs Alexander will be very interesting although i think Maidana won't be able to push Alexander back that much as Devon likes the pressure and saty put that could go either way with Bradley, i think Maidana will find it tough, Bradley aint going to knock him out, but Bradley probably can outbox him and cause problems for him then again I think Khan will find it easier against Bradley then Devon man i love boxing
You really are overrating Khan. All these guys have conditioning at that level. Bradley, Alexander, etc
I would keep Ortiz away from Maidana....Victor is a very fragile fighter still, and Marcos still gave a good account of himself last night....Ortiz gets stopped again by Maidana at this point...
Maidana did not get robbed against Kotelnik. It was truly a close fight, I had Kotelnik winning by a point or two.
If Ortiz sticks to a gameplan and doesn't go balls to the wall like he did in the first fight (and like Khan did in the later mid rounds) then I think he could eek out a close decision win in a rematch with Maidana. That being said Maidana is excellent at walking a guy down and still has KO power in the later rounds, so I'm not so sure.
