Marcos Maidana vs Christopher Algieri - Who wins?

Remind us how Algieri and Morales are so similar

Pac fans always talking about "general consensus", well general consensus says Maidana beats Algieri.

 

If by "almost kayoed" you mean landing 3 consecutive heavy uppercuts, or your best overhand, or your most telegraphed hooks and not even hurting your opponent enough to knock him down ONCE, not twice, but once at least....

And that opponent was Khan, and he wasn't fighting defensively.

To show a good chin you have to be hit savagely, maybe go down, but then get up.

And Algieri, after that moster of a hook (a similar shot had the "titanium chinned" Bradley rolling all over the ring, cross-eyed) got up not even wobblying, and didn't close in a shell.
His style is to boxe from the outside, and that's what he did.
He was more cautious against Paquiao.

Maidana's power is only smoke and mirrors. OR, Khan's chin is not that bad, and better than Mayweather's.

Maidana did almost KO Khan.

Good chin = taking a good shot without losing your legs or getting knocked down or out
Good heart = getting back up from the shot

Provo landed more shots and more flush punches on Bradley than Algieri because Bradley made a conscious decision to fight toe to toe. I doubt Provo landed his shots with the same power on both guys.

 

The shot Mayweather ate against Maidana KOs Khan. Hell, it would have dropped or severely hurt plenty of top level guys.

Funny thing about the poll too is that the only people that voted Algieri are people who don't like Mayweather.

Agreed, this thread is really about justifying Pac's fight against Algieri.

 

The people who voted for Maidana by knockout are Mayweather fans who are straight up lying to themselves .

Algeiri has a proven iron chin and is incredibly durable . Even with 1 eye he doesn't break down and stay dedicated to his game plan .

I don't care what anyone says , Chino ain't walking threw him and knocking him out . It's not happening

Stylistically for Algieiri he should win this fight and has the advantage .

Yet I still won't vote for him to win because I still feel this fight could go either way .

 

Algieri's heart, not so much his chin, is the reason I think this fight goes the distance.

 

It's both Algieiri heart AND his chin .

You can have all the heart in the world but it can only take you so far .

If you ain't got no chin therefore you are vulnerable and your heart is not going to save you .

 

Maidana wide UD with 2 or 3 kd's.

 

Maidana KO's Algeri. I like Algeri but hes not ready for that preesure, solid jab, and good power
