Marcos Maidana Vs Demarcus Corley 8/28/10 Luna Park Stadium, Buenos Aires

Corley has lost 12 of his last 21 fights. Please don't delude yourself into thinking he has a shot in hell. He is going to be beaten badly and probably permanently injured as a result of this fight.

 

So far Maidana has beaten a mentally fragile Ortiz and a raw talent in Cayo whose awkward mistakes hadn't caught up to him until then.

He isn't a proven A class fighter.

People are deluding themselves into thinking he's on the level where someone like Corley shouldn't even be sanctioned against him.

Everybody's instinct could be right - but so far, they're only that. Maidana could still turn out to be one of those guys that can beat prospects who aren't ready but never succeeds at the elite level.
