Well, kinda. :yep I might be the biggest Corley fan on here but Maidana clearly won (except 117-110 might be a bit too wide).

You were right about Maidana not bringing his A game.

If that's his A game, he has no business calling out Khan or Bradley.

Of course, Corley still deserves props for hanging like that with even a less-than-100% version of Maidana. :deal

Maidana is a very, very average fighter.

That is always what happens, but I'm not expecting too many. I would say only about 10 or 15 threads instead of the 100 to 200 threads of that garbage. The reason being is that this fight was not on American TV. (may'be not on across the pond either? Not too sure)

Maidana looked terrible tonight much like how Arreola looked. He was starting to look better and better in recent fights and then tonight totally bombs it against Corley. Did he even bother to train? Maybe he is trying to look like Mosley after 2 rounds against Mayweather.

Maidana threw a thousand punches at Kotelik without slowing down so it was weird watching him gas against an old timer like Corley unless he didn't take it seriously. I think Khan will be signing the fight tonight after that type of performance.

Marcos better not show up like that against Khan or it'll be ugly.

No there won't. Maidana has always been this type of fighter (I know since I've watched most of his fights). Maidana is just not skilled.

Whereas Alexander did get exposed that night. He got exposed in the sense that he doesn't have a good Boxing Brain, he has a leaky defence and struggles to find his range. Are you saying we didn't realise that in the fight.

Define 'Exposed' and then come back.

There's a swing bout being shown. It's between local Argie cruiserweights, scheduled for four. (the result is already up).

Daniel "Torbellino" Sanabria vs. Patricio "Grande" Pitto. It's moderately entertaining. Big guys who aren't terribly hard to hit, but not too sloppy either. :conf

Look this one up on Youtube. Maybe it's just the leftover adrenaline from Maidana-Corley, but I'm enjoying this. Good honest effort from two guys who either don't realize or don't care their fight wasn't even aired live.

Boxrec has it listed incorrectly. They have Sanabria winning on "PTS" in 4 rounds. Well, my own two eyes just got done watching six rounds. Sanabria won a split decision (that he may not have deserved...Pitto was landing the more effective, damaging punches in about half of those rounds).

When did you first starting to watch boxing? A year ago? Any way if you follow Alexander's career, you would know EASILY! that he wasn't focused at all in the Kotelnik fight. Before the fight, all he and Kevin talk about is Bradley. All this leading up to this fight is about Bradley this or Bradley that. When Kevin finally talks about Kotelnik, he mostly say Alexander will blow away Kotelnik like nothing. <<<Stuff like this is not good leading up to the fight. And that fight was in Alexander hometown with many stars at ringside. And with the Bradley likely happening<<<How can Alexander be focused? I guarantee If Alexander face Kotelnik again with out any distraction and without any pressure, he would beat Kotelnik very clearly.

Maidana and Alexander both disappoint in their recent bouts. I only saw 3 rounds of Maidana v Corley, and from what i saw Corley was bringing it to Maidana.

I already thought Khan and Bradley were above them, but these recent showings only reinforce it.

You can only make too many excuses regarding things like underestimation, too. At a certain point you're just taking credit away from guys like Kotelnik and Corley who fought their guts out as heavy underdogs instead of laying down.

Maidana definitely won, but he didn't look too impressive. He took his time boxing and fighting at a slow pace except when he had chop chop hurt, kinda flatfooted, and was visibly gassed by the tenth round big time. He does, however, have an underrated defense and technical skill. He's not the sharpest tool in the box for sure, but sometimes people make him out to be a wreckless brawler when I saw him evade a good number of punches and pick his shots smartly. He got hit too much for a fighter of his ability against an older fighter like Corley, but that doesn't mean he has no technical skill. I think he'll get up for Khan, and even though I favor Khan on speed and skill, I think Maidana will be determined to try and make it rough for him and land a few good times, making it no easy pick.
