Marcos Maidana vs Lucas Matthysse - Title eliminator anyone?

    I would love to see this fight come off. And I think it's a very tough fight to call, but I'll try.

    I think this has FOTY written all over it as well.

    And now for a prediction, I would have to say I haven't quite seen how much Matthysse's chin holds up under fire, but it does seem solid. But he would be there ALOT more for Maidana to hit then Khan was, and I feel Maidana has a little more power at this weight.

    After both fighters take thier fare share of punches, I feel Maidana would eventually wear down Matthysse late, and probably get a Tko type stoppage.

    But then again it could go completely opposite of what I just typed :yep.

    It doesn't necassarily.

    Styles make fights. Khan/Maidana was fought at a tremendous pace. Combinations, fast punching, power, drama.

    It doesn't always happen.

    I was thinking of this fight since i saw Judah-Matthyse.
    I hope it gets made because i also agree that it has FOTY potential. Matthyse looks to have a solid chin. Judah hit him with some very hard shots and though they bothered him he never looked hurt. Both guys are very similar. Matthysse is more methodical.

    Hmmm i cant pick.

    it would be ahell of a fight but i dont want it to happen so soon!
    This is a fight that would take alot out of both guys!

    I don't know... when two powerpunchers as hard hitting at these guys go at it I'm not sure it lasts too long.

    I'd root for Maidana. He won against Ortiz and gave Khan a hell of a fight. Impressive.

    I see this having trilogy potential as long as Mattysse has the heart. We know Maidana does and Matthysse showed he had a chin so if he has the heart this has the potential for a Gatti-Ward type of trilogy.

    This is a badass matchup. Would rather see these guys get built up a little more.

    Lucas vs Urango
    Lucas vs Peterson

    Maidana vs Urango
    Maidana vs Peterson

    then let these two battle it out. Would be a mini classic IMO.

    Yea I deff like to see these two rack up at least one win before this fight happened.

    Lucas or Maidana vs Urango would be a good test for either of them.

    Much as I wanna pick Chino.... given that left hook to the body in the first round of the Khan fight.......

    **** it! I think I would pick Matthyse to stop him.... via body shots.

    But MY GOODDDDD does this fight need to happen!
