Maidana stops him in 5 in a WILD brawl in which sees both men hit the deck. Its a shame Torres isnt on the scene anymore.

Maidana seems slightly more durable, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.

    GREAT FIGHT.

Is Maidana's KO record as good as it looks on paper? Or is he like Prescott? I dont know much about him or his opponents! Obviously he can bang but were his opponents any good... someone enlighten me!!

I'd go with maidana on this one. I don't think torres still has that in him. This would turn bloody. War!!

I actually think it can go either way, just depends on who lands the first big shots

Being honest, his resume is not as good as Ricardo Torres.. but it's still very decent.

Two young, promising prospects in Cayo and Ortiz along with a hotly contested loss to seasoned vet like Kotelnik.

His resume is basically fair, but not very good.

Yep his punches are a little tighter. In the battle of the hooks torres would land first.

Tough call. At his best, Torres had the better handspeed and maybe the better defense while Maidana is ahead in timing and pure power. But Chino's skills are a bit underrated, sure he has major defensive holes and Torres might spark him out early, but he's more awkward than just raw, adjusted well to boxer-puncher Ortiz (beautiful right hand), Roy Jones wannabe Cayo (body shot timed perfectly) and a little bit too late, but to Kotelnik's defensive counter-boxing as well, so his chances would improve dramatically after 4 rounds. Maidana is extremely tough so I'd say he tastes the canvas early to come back and chop Torres down late, quite possibly via a brutal body shot.
