WBA interim-junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana is still hungry for a crack at WBO champion Timothy Bradley. Maidana (28-1, 27 KOs) was scheduled twice to fight Bradley (25-0, 11 KOs) on HBO. He postponed two scheduled dates, June 19 and July 17, with claims of a serious back injury. It was recently disclosed that Maidana's back injury was infact an excuse to withdraw because of an internal rift with his manager.
Golden boy chief Ceo richard shaefer tells boxscene that maidana's back injury claim came from the manager and not the fighter. while maidana is trying to break his managerial contract,he wants to keep his promotional contract with Golden boy in place:

Great news. Maidana, Alexander, and Bradley all need to fight eachother to determine who the top JWW is.

What happens in regard to interim belts in "unification" clashes?

Maidana will turn the fight down saying he's not getting paid enough.

    Again.

Maidana would have to give up his interim belt, meaning he would no longer be Khan's mando.

It's the WBA so nothing is certain. They could just make Maidana super interim champion and hold another interim fight.

Good news. Dan Rafael also mentioned recently that Golden Boy is helping Maidana sort out his managerial issues and trying to get him a stay busy fight in Argentina this summer.

Bradley will give him hell or frozen abyss in whatever season he likes..

The elite know he is a name..and an easy name despite the risk of how he wants to take a beating on his way to try and catch a chin.

I guess maida wants a safer bradley than khan?... unless wires are still crossed in khan maidana

Maidana casamayor? Anyone? Maidana vs. Katsidis?

GBP has other plans for him. He can fight any of these guys anytime he wants. However, guys like Maidana, Alexander, and Bradley don't fit into Khan's plans at this time.

Maidana is the only one of the four who has the power to enforce a fight with one of the others anytime he wants. He can just enforce the mandatory with Khan...

Good news I was starting to think Maidana was ducking Bradley.

Actually he can't, not now at least. And I'm pretty sure if GBP called up Shaw or King and said they wanted to match Khan with either Bradley or Alexander, Shaw and King would be very receptive. Of course, those aren't the fights that GBP wants for Khan at this time. Maybe some other time.

I think this fight would be close through 7 or 8 rounds but move towards Bradley slightly from there.Based on a slight advantage in skill and possibly a frustration setting in from the fight being close.Based on strength the fight could go the exact same way towards Maidana.Either way it will be too close to call and the judges will have their way unless there is a K.O..
