Argentina will be all over this fight like white on rice. There's already so much hype over there in Argentina now, it's almost nuts.

Maidana won the "Olimpia de Oro" award for best Argentinian sportsman of 2013.

    It's going to be crazy.

Believe it or not, many Argentinians will flock to Vegas May 3rd to watch the fight. Very similar to the Brits/Hatton.

It will also be somewhat similiar to Monzon. Whenever he fought, streets would be empty, everyone watching/listening on the radio. IMO, something like this will happen. Obviously not to that magnitude but tens of thousands of people will be watching from the heart of the city/city hall or whatever.

This fight will be ABSOLUTELY crazy.

Maidana TKO1 Messi. He should fight Matthysse in Argentina after he gets schooled by Floyd, would be huge.

    This is absolutely horse ****.

Messi is the number one (or the number two, only Cristiano Ronaldo could beat him) soccer player in the world, in the sport that has the absolutely biggest playerbase and follower base in the entire ****ing world.

And he so is since years, crushing record after record.

Messi is already in the history.

Between few years he'll be recognized as the absolute best soccer player there have ever been.

He's a genius, has unhuman reflezes and coordination, explosive acceleration and surprising resistance, he's humble and an example for childs throughout the entire world.

He's one of the most payed athletes of the world.

How in the entire hell is Maidana ever comparable to Messi?

He's not even the best Argentinean boxer!

    Sergio Maravilla Martinez is.

Even Lucas The machine Matthysse is better than Maidana.

Messi had quite a bad year (by his standards), suffering from injuries. While Matthysse lost his fight and Maidana won both of his in two great fights. Not to mention that this award was handed out a few days after Maidana gave Broner an absolute pasting, so was fresh in the minds of everybody.

Oh and Messi isn't as popular in Argentina as you would think as A) he left Argentina for Barcelona at the age of 11 and B) he's flattered to deceive for the national team.

It's sad how people are still going out of their way to hype this fight. This fight is going to be a one-sided snoozefest. Quit with the BS, already.

Its funny how you were on Khan's dick when it looked like her was fighting Floyd and now you've dived on Maidana's. Its the "young hungry Lion" thing all over again.

I like Maidana and I'm glad to see him get a big payday but the fight is a waste of time.

One day, probably not anytime soon though, you'll hopefully surprise me and other posters on this forum and provide an insightful post for once.

You've been on here since 2004 and I can say without hesitation that you're one of the worst posters on ESB who brings nothing to the table as far as intellectual conversations go. From the way you actually write, I doubt you're from my country. You have a very poor command of the English language.

As for the discussion, even though Messi is a god in Argentina, it doesn't surprise me that Chino won the award. Messi had his worst year as a footballer since probably 2008/2009. It didn't help that he was suffering from some injuries last year either.

I have a feeling Lucas would've probably won the award if he had beaten Swift back in September.

Messi is light years ahead of Ronaldo. Not even close.

FFS he was injured for nearly 3 months. And I think being the 2nd top scorer for Argentina at the age of 26 is not too bad. The reason some don't take too well to him is because most of the world think he's better than Maradona.

At the moment Ronaldo is the best player in the world.
