No, he will not be remembered as the best ever if he doesn't manage to win a single world cup.
In a few months we will witness again how much Messi is worth without Iniesta and Xavi.
Messi shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as all time greats like Pele, Maradona or the original Ronaldo.
World Championships is were the glory is at fools, nobody cares about g.ay club competition and how many goals Messi can score against subpar opposition in the pathetic spanish league. Where was Messi against Bayern? LOLZ!
I hope Germany will meet Argentina again to end the Messi-hype once and for all, after sending those pathetic English squad home again of course.

    "4:0 4:0 4:0, whenever I think of Messi or the three g.ay pu.ssycat-lions I think 4:0 4:0 4:0"

    :blah :party :soccerred:mj:soccergr::smh
    :****:arran

The best player in the world atm is Frank Ribery and the best team is Bayern Munich, they would even demolish Spain.
You can't be the best if you don't win **** and don't beat nobody decent, what kind of Mayweather-attitude is that?

Messi wasn't impressive at all at the big games last year, Ronaldo, Ribery / Robben and Ibrahimovic had a better 2013 than Messi.

He was NEVER impressive in big, competitive games.
Without a great team around him he is basically worthless, look how a Maradonna lead an ordinary/weak Argentinia to the title and back to back WC-finals.
Messis team is 10x better yet they can't win ****.

Messi is an exceptional role-player, but he is not the kind of ATG-Go-To-Guy that wins World-Cup elimination matches alone and by himself like a Maradonna, Zidane or Ronaldo (again, the real one).

Messi will always rank behind those players on a level with guys like Raul or Luis Figo, players that shine when the conditions are favourable and the going is easy, true champions shine when faced with adversity and true character is needed, they don't hide in big matches.

He barely is the 3rd best player on his team, let alone in the world, let alone all time ffs.

Huge mismatch, just like Bayern - Barcelona or Germany - Argentina :rofl

Maidana got dominated like Messis teams get dominated on a regular basis.

Was the "Olimpia de Oro" award based on a poll on Mayweather's site by chance?

I like Maidana a lot. I am happy he is getting a great pay day even though the fight has little excitement for me. But come on.

And for the record the debate about Ronaldo and Messi is fair. I'd edge toward Messi though not in every category. Unfortunately it's a lot harder to compare guys head to head in a team sport and this is a factor. Gotta love boxing.
