Calling out Amir Khan on twitter! Who wins this time round then? Maidana seems to think that it was the ref who won the fight for khan last time out.

Yeah i'd go 50/50, although i though Khan looked awful last time out. The first fight was great, dont see how the ref won it for Khan.

maidana is nothing special, i think brook would knock him out inside 5 rounds, ppl make out he's some indestructible force, he was getting schooled by a shot morales not so long ago, and he failed to even hurt el-terrible. as for this match its a toss up, khan has no power the body shot he landed was more of a fluke shot, when was the last time you saw the boy put someone down with that type of shot at championship level(judah quit on himself the body shot was to try and get the ref to pass it as an illegal blow)

You cant say it was the refs fault for not stopping Khan when he went on to win ! Maidana wouldve stopped him if he was that close to being knocked out. Never heard a fighter say he was cheated by the ref cos he didnt stop the other guy

Don't rate Marcos that high, Think Soto Karass hurt him in there fight and could of won but Maidana's a tough dude who sticks in there and is the sort of fighter Khan doesn't like because he stays in there past early rounds and throws bombs.

I'd agree with lads above 50/50. Khan's got the ability to outbox him and hurt him but he's also got the ability to self destruct and get himself stopped. Maidana's the sort of guy who's willing to take him up on that offer.

Think Khan would win again, this time without quite so much trouble. Maidana's always got a chance though.

    50/50 as people are saying.

I had Khan up by 2 points in the first fight, but Maidana is nothing special as his fights since have proved. Morales could have arguably got the decision and Alexander showed how a boxer should deal with a fighter of Maidanas quality.

Great fun fighter too watch mind.

The beauty of hindsight. All of a sudden it becomes the right call by the referee. It's the same thing with advantage in football; if the team with the advantage score then it's a good call, contrarily if it's stopped it can be a bad call.

However, considering the above - I wouldn't like to have been the man to judge that particular stoppage on the night, so I neither fault the referee or commend him. Fights have been stopped for a lot less though!
