Maidana put on a ton of weight. They talked about him fighting in December. Squashed that idea quick. The team has since said he will return in 2016 and likely campaign for his 3rd division title at 154 lbs.

I've not read up on anything recent but I'm pretty sure he mentioned retirement before the second Floyd fight, so likely he is.

He's done. The guy weighs 200 pounds. He would have to fight his first fight back at Cruiserweight and then get acclimated down into Super Middleweight slowly.

He has every right to enjoy the life that he earned with the hard work and attitude of never giving up. I don't think he has much to give to boxing scene anyways - he has met all important faces and lost to most of them. Unless he washes all that money straight down to toilet, I would not expect him back in top pro boxing, ever.
