In terms with overall performance would you say that Maidana's fight with Broner was his best? People are so hung up on Broner's failure to box better that they don't even talk about Maidana's subtle skills that he displays against Broner. He showed some versatility in the ring, slipped punches, and threw combos that were unreal. He OUTBOXED Broner for God's sakes and made him look like an amateur!
Even though this didn't end by knockout Maidana dominated the supposed future star by using skills of his own that we aren't used to seeing. I'd say this was Maidana at his best in terms of technical skills.

Maidana's beaten some good people. I thought he beat Kotelnik, he beat Ortiz, ALMOST beat Khan, but I think of all of those you do have to go with Broner because of the dominance of the performance.

He had Khan out on his feet in round 10, but he couldn't finish the job, but against Broner he was always far enough ahead that a stoppage was never necessary.

Maidana has certainly changed his stripes, the guy has learned how to exchange with counter-punchers.

Usually guys don't change and switching trainers doesn't work, but I think Maidana is learning how other boxers are taking advantage of him and his style has adapted to make it harder for them to counter him.

He is still limited, because guys with great footwork and movement will always have an advantage over him. Hopefully his new trainer will match him up against guys that Maidana can keep up with.
