Martinez jabs and plays keepaway. Maidana is bearing in with body shots and hard overhands thrown from his back hip to Martinez's temple with bad intentions. Big arcing shots from Maidana, beginning to clap Martinez around the ring. Decent survival instincts by Martinez, bouncing off the ropes and lunging in to briefly lean on Maidana or tie him up. A few taps to the body by Martinez while doing his pinball impression. Hard right over the top by Maidana. Martinez is warned sternely with a finger wagging in his face, probably for holding. (that is, holding Maidana with one arm while clutching the top rope with another).

Round 3

Maidana is stalking, puts out a practice jab. Martinez is using the full ring, dancing away lightly on his feet. Maidana chucks in a right hand with a hook behind it, closing the distance by wading in with the momentum of his punches. Martinez uses the large ring to maneuver around him, tossing out jabs and light scissoring flurries. Martinez changes directions while approaching a corner and tries to adjust his angle to not get trapped on the ropes. Too late, there's Maidana. Set-up 1-2 to the guard by Maidana, gets Martinez lifting his elbows to expose the flesh beneath. BIG LEFT HOOK TO THE SOLAR PLEXUS! MARTINEZ DOWN!! GASPING AND SCRABBLING AT THE BOTTOM ROPE! NO CHANCE!

Yeah, from the replay it was more obviously a hook/uppercut landing squarely in the front. On that first angle it wasn't as clear a view and happened so quick, it was just a big left hook to the body and down he went. Usually that's a liver shot reaction.
