Hopkins is putting up jabs and connecting high on Charlo's face but getting countered with crisp hooks. Hopkins circles a little further out and takes deep lunges to jab the body, pulling all the way back out. Big reaching right hand by Hopkins, dug into the braids of Charlo. Big chopping right hand by Hopkins behind a jab. Charlo has swelling on his left cheek from Hopkins' punches. Jab to the chest by Hopkins, charging in with a right hand loaded up but Charlo leaps backward before he can throw it.

Hopkins is circling right and making Charlo miss his jab with head movement, picking some off with his stationary right glove by swaying in to meet them and guide their trajectories to align. Charlo is missing the 1-2 over Hopkins' head. Right hand by Hopkins. Left hook to the body by Hopkins. Uppercut combo by Hopkins, missing them all. They step apart and then forward once more. Right uppercut to the body by Hopkins. Charlo misses a hook.

Hopkins is throwing wide body punches while draping himself over a clothesline. Charlo jumps back and lands the straight right hand counter. Hopkins peels up his rear foot an inch off the canvas, moves it out like a record needle, and drags his front to restore his posture. Counter right by Hopkins. Charlo is dropping in jabs from outside, not looking to go after the obviously stalling Hopkins.

Hopkins is throwing jabs to the upper chest and slapping around the side with a right hand down low. Charlo sticks a double jab into Hopkins' face. Charlo flinches away from a Hopkins jab, slipping it, and boomerangs in with his own - but Hopkins pulls the same move on him. Charlo is jabbing in between the inner wrists of Hopkins, not quite touching his beard. Hopkins forks in a jab, too slow as Charlo ducks and circles. Charlo is swatted by an overhand right from Hopkins but gets in a quick combination to the body while crouched. 1-2 up top by Charlo. Hopkins throws a jab, and his head is rocked back sharply by a stiff Charlo counter jab. Clinch.
