Marcus Browne is a 6'2 24 year old Light Heavyweight with a 16-0 12 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Staten Island, New York. Browne a Southpaw who competed for us in the 2012 London Olympics and won 3 titles at the Golden Gloves, he got his start boxing at the Park Hill Gym in Staten Island run by Ex-NYPD Narc Pat Russo and trainer Gary Stark Jr. as a way to keep him out of trouble as a youth, as a part of Atlas Cops & Kids program run by Teddy Atlas. He's a proud Mama's boy, she raised him and his 5 siblings by herself and instilled in them a strong work ethic, based on her striving for the American Dream since she arrived from Liberia at 12. I remember being impressed with him when watching him make his debut on a Shobox card showcasing U.S. Olympians making their pro debuts, of the fighters that made their debut that night included the likes of Errol Spence Jr, Dominic Breazeale and Rau'shee Warran, to me Browne stood out the most of the young prospects. Unfortunately he's be left off of many TV broadcasts, coming up just short of the televised portions, which is a pity because of the few American Light Heavyweight Prospects which is basically he and Sean Monaghan, he has the most potential to be a breakout star, and deserves more exposure. He's pretty good from what I've seen of him, he's no Kovalev or Beterbiev yet but he's still young and has room to grow and potentially get even better.

 

Because there's almost no footage of him, that's a side effect of his matches not getting on TV. Gvozdyk and Mekhontsev don't have any fans either, but it doesn't mean they aren't good, it just means no one has been given much of a chance to see them.
