I'm going with Agbeko. I like Mares, but I think Agbeko's awkwardness and footwork will carry the day.

I'm not saying ur wrong, because I have only seen him fight once, but that style got him past a very dangerous Vic darchinian

Mares is going to pressure Agbeko all the way into the later rounds and win by ko/tko or at least win by easy UD. I wagered $1900 on Mares to win $1000 at my sportsbook.

Yea and he nearly lost that fight too. He tried to go toe to toe with Darchynian. A guy with his skills does not have to do that. The old Mares when he was trained by Beristain was a counter puncher like JMM. That style would have got him an easy victory or a TKO instead of a close fight that really could have gone either way.

He wanted stardom too soon which is why i think he left Nacho. It will prove to be a mistake in the long run. This kid will not be fighting at the elite level like JMM and Rafa at their age.

Im not biased towards Mares, but Ive always liked the little warrior. He can brawl and box exceptionally, but his lack of punching power may hurt him in the end. Agbecko has improved from his loss and I too feel he might have a better chance vs Nonito. Unless Mares starts looking like a prime Marquez or better yet Finito Lopez hes going to have to put the performance of a lifetime. A draw or SD for Agbeko I think. Another FOTY candidate.

Thanks for the info on Mares as I'm not too familiar with him. Your critique of him makes me want to look up and watch his past fights.

Well if you like how JMM and Rafa fight then you will see he made a mistake. He would be better as a counter puncher i always felt. He doesnt really carry that much power and is already a smaller guy at 118 so counter punching is what he should be doing. I felt he could have countered punched Darchinyan like Donaire did and stopped him but his new trainer is all about pushing the pace.

Mares for me, straighter puncher, quicker, more compact.

Agbeko is a beast probably the most underrated fighter in the sport. Agbeko's toughness, elusiveness and skill will be too much for Mares to overcome. I expect him to beat up Mares and give him a boxing lesson. With that said the fight will be in LA and the fix could be in for a hometown robbery for Mares. As I see no way for Mares to beat Agbeko at this point.

I agree with you on Agbeko giving Donaire a better fight than Mares. He's ellusive and awkward and tough as ****. He would give Donaire all he could handle.

Bodog has not released the odds yet but when they put it out latter tonight or in the morning Ogbeko will be +150 to +160.

Yeah I just checked them. That's good news to me that Mares is the favorite I'm going to put $300 on Agbeko

I do like both guys, always difficult in these situations. The first fight was great! But hoping Abgeko gets this. Feel like he's due.
