Wise move as Mares was always a smallish Bantam, he should not fight again unless its for a career high payday or going down to 115 to fight Roman Gonzalez For a 4th belt & legacy [winnable fight...if he still has the hunger, otherwise Roman Gonzalez KTFO]

Miura is a tougher fight than Gonzalez imo, anyone else get the sense that Mares doesn't want it anymore?

Gotta agree here with Miura being the tougher fight. Would be nice if GBP could give him someone else to fight on the card considering his career has been on hold waiting for Mares to make up his mind. The US fans would love his mentality and style as well.

He just got knocked out in the first round. He needs a confidence builder.

He's got Khan syndrome. He's made enough money so that he doesn't have to grind anymore, but he still wants one last megafight to cashout...except he doesn't want to risk losing a build-up fight, LOL.

i must have missed something, i thought mares was going to rematch gonzales. now he's moved up again to 130? i don't he should move up so soon. especially against a good and unknown (in the US) fighter.
