    He fights all comers and was very reckless. Pretty stupid if you ask me but at least he has balls, unlike pretty boy fraud.

    I think Mares thought this might of been the same Jhonny Nishioka and PDL fought. Beristain brought out the best in Jhonny just like Beristain had done earlier with Mares. Without Beristain it might of been a different story. Jhonny was using alot of headmovement and smart boxing he wouldn't use before he was also catching Mares moving back, the beginning of the end. Then Mares thought he could just move in and trade with him. Perhaps the best of Jhonny still to come.

    Yeah, he may be a dirty fighter, but he also fights everyone. His level of competition can't be denied, so Abner has my respect for that. I'm not going to rewrite history and punish him too much for getting destroyed like that- his P4P spot's gone now, and that's a fair price to pay.

    He looked noticeably smaller than Jhonny, too. I think Abner may be too stretched at 126, although Jhonny is a full-sized FW.

    It seems that all these fighters are held to completely different standard than Floyd. Otherwise, how is Mares taking on Gonzalez a show of testicular fortitude, but Mayweather taking on a guy like Cotto is dismissed?

    There is no pleasing boxing fans. Ridiculous bunch. The kid has had tough fight after tough fight instead of hiding and he gets **** for losing. He has fought quality none stop.

    Mares got his recognition because he actually went into the ring and proved himself over and over again against top competition. Most people dismissed him and didn't like his style.
    I admit, it wasn't until he beat Moreno that I started appreciating him and then he moves up in wait to stop Ponce, I knew he was one of the top fighters in the world.
