I haven't seen it but heard it was discusting, how does he get away with it?? He did it to Vic too, he should have been dq'd twice, stinks of corruption. Vic would have won the 1st fight, and it's terrible for agbeko to lose his title like that!
Awful reffing...picked the fight up from the 4th round, so not sure how much he did early but the RBR seemed to indicate he was doing it from the very first round and didn't let up. That call in the 11th beggars belief...just pure incompetence from the ref. Changed a clear 10-9 Agbeko round to a 10-8 Mares round and shifted the momentum away from Joseph. This is the clown that took the points off Kats when he fought Guerrero...for borderline shots and with hardly a warning...knowing full well that Mick was clawing his way back into the fight. The way he tried to justify it after the fight was laughable and even that **** Jim Grey absolutely destroyed him by straight up telling him he got it wrong and showing him the evidence. Really put a damper on a pretty good fight...Mares did a great job to give himself an argument for winning that fight but it will always be tainted in my eyes. Judges weren't to far off the mark but the ref was absolutely atrocious.
that's the sport of boxing. anything can happen. win by ko to probably be assured to be given the victory.
Probably the worst individual performance by a referee on a big stage that I've ever seen. While there were occasions that Agbeko was in fact hanging onto the back of Mares' head it was nowhere near as much as what Mora was claiming. The second knockdown was a terrible call. Despite all that, I think Mares did just win the fight by a point (even if you don't include the second knockdown). The kid certainly has a good chin. He swallowed up that right hand in the 4th round that would've knocked out a horse.
I have never seen so many low blows in my life. If the knockdown wasnt called in Round 11 & instead a point deduction for Mares it would have been extremely close on all scorecards, possibly even Agbeko edging it. I thought if a point was deducted in about round 5 & that amount of low blows continued a DQ had to occur.
Yes. Russell Mora should be fired. The low blow in the 11th ruled a KD was a disgrace. At least 10 low blows no warnings. Agbeko was actually warned more for pulling Mares' head down. Mares was actually the better fighter but **** he's dirty. The post fight interview where Mora seen the replay of the lowblow he ruled a KD in the 11th yet he still claims was on the beltline was laughable.
Greg lohan broke the fight down and came up with : 21 low blows from mares 6 warnings to mares, no point deductions. 15 missed low blows. And add on the two stuffed up kd calls that favored mares. - you reckon this jerk wasnt bought. atsch. - He should be charged and locked up, but as per usual with these corrupt grubs, mora returns to his day job having screwed over an ageing guy from ghana who fights to put food on the table for his family. These pricks couldnt care less they play ( **** over) peoples lives....as long as he they get an envelop of cash, free meals and a nice hotel.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mr4LIC6Bj4[/ame] Judge and see for yourself. Whats worse is he has used the same tactic a 2nd time now and is still getting away with it. And If I recall, vics team produced a documentary video about low blows where Mares was the one demonstrating how to do it. How much more evidence do you need for a suspension? Hes no better than Margacheato in my opinion....
Nah Porky your spot on. After Vic's fight with Mares the WBC ordered a rematch because of the ammount of Low Blows Mares landed. I think it needs to happen :deal
