Decent card. Mares should dominate Morel, haven't seen Eric fight for a good few years, at 36 without any recent meaningful fights I'm assuming he's seen better days, i doubt Mares will stop him though. Morel is tough as nails. Moreno/De La Mora is a good match up, TBH i haven't seen much of DLM, apart from his great effort against Kameda, at only 23 and just 5 years as a pro, he seems like a real talent, I wonder if he has the experience to deal with a classy and elusive boxer like Moreno. Thoughts?
Yeah, due to the fact I'm taking Mares-Morel as a glass half full kind of fight I like this double-header. Morel's a dick, and not a very good fighter at all anymore. On the face of it it's actually a rather poor match-up, but watching Morel get his comeuppance means I can take my enjoyment out of it. He's a child ****** and robbed Gerry Penalosa, so Mares KHTFO or dishing out a prolonged pounding on him will put him back in my good books after the Agbeko farce. De la Mora against Moreno is a far better fight in a boxing sense. I intended on re-watching the Kameda fight yesterday(might do so tonight), which if I remember rightly I had DDLM winning. I reckon he's got the style to give Moreno some trouble, he's got a more conventional aggressive way of doing things than Crabchinyan had(who hasn't?), which has historically been the type of style that's given Chemito headaches. I favour Moreno right now though.
I think Moreno is God awful to watch , I'm not sure if i even respect his skills , he's so ****in awkward and gangly !!! , I've never seen De La Mora , but i hope he beats him Mares Morel i suppose i like , Morel was supposed to be battered against Vazquez Jr and we all know how that turned out , so it should be a good fight , Mares keeps improving but for me he is missing that star quality , a very watchable fighter but not somebody to write home over , not yet anyway , but like i say he's a likeable hard working champion Should be a good double header never the less
Morel is probably even more awful to watch - got a gift against Penalosa and hasn't fought anyone decent since.
Think that's Arce you're thinking about. Anyways Mares is a fighter that is steadily improving, his performance in the 2nd fight vs. Agbeko was a great deal better than the first which in turn was better than the Vic fight. He's had a hard run of fights, all going 12 rounds recently, so I've not got too many qualms about him dropping down a level for this fight alone, though I'd rather he fought Moreno who I could see him beating. Especially if he puts a beatdown on Morel. He's got to start being tactically more consistent and judge fights better Mares but I feel he's maturing all the time and as an offensive fighter, his combinations can be a joy to watch. Why is this for the WBC title though? What happened with Nishioka?
:bart You don't have to like him, but you must respect his skills, very classy operator. Some of his fights have been horrendous to watch though.
