I understand where you are coming from, and I do agree. However, I still think most of the blame is on the ref. If you are landing slightly below the belt, and the ref is calling them fair, then the ref is saying that what you are doing is legal and is encouraging you to keep doing it. Mares would most likely have adjusted if he had been docked a point, which he should have been.

I don't know, Mares was definitely throwing low, and I think he does that intentionally. So he still does deserve some of the blame...

As for Margarito, he shouldn't even be allowed to box anymore. He is the worst.

Drogba makes a conscious effort to dive. I don't think mares made a conscious effort to foul.

That's just my opinion but after watching the fights and hearing his interview I don't buy that he's a cheat.

they are both cheaters but I mean Mares was being a ***** without any warning from the ref , but Margacheato could have seriously hurt someone. His is worse in my opinion.

Yeah, true that. Comparing him to Margarito is ludicrous. What Mares is doing, is just visibly bending the rules and is being allowed to get away with it. Whilst he shouldn’t be entirely blamed for Saturday’s fiasco, he shouldn’t be free from criticism, either. He was fighting very dirty.

Calling him a cheat is a little unfair, I agree. But he is a dirty fighter. Very dirty.

If the ref would of taken a point early on or really adressed the low blows, I'm sure Mares would of cleaned up his act. But since the ref refused to do so, Mares figured his body shots were landing above the foul line and didn't make any adjustments. I put the blame on the ref. The fighter is throwing shots while taking some so he can't completely tell where the shots are landing.

Get real - low blows are infringements of the boxing rules, using Paris plaster is pure criminal.

IMO, trying to sneak something by in a way that could injure your opponent, like illegal wraps, steroids or diuretics, is ALWAYS worse than any cheating in the ring. It's the referee's job to stop in-ring shenanigans. Mora should get a lot of the blame here, but a punch isn't illegal unless the referee calls it illegal.

Neither of them should be allowed to box again.
