Mares robbed !!!!!!

Freddy, If you read my other posts you'll see that I'm actaully pretty pissed off too. And think Mares got shafted. But I don't think it was a robbery because I can see at least two of the rounds that Mares won being scored the otherway. Moreover, it didn't become apparent that Mares' body shots and head shots were more affective and that he was being the more affective fighter until the last two rounds when Parez's will and stamina broke. Only then was it blatantly obvious who had been doing the better work. Problem is that by then if you were a judge scoring this fight wrong the dye might have already been cast on a a draw or no better for Mares. Sucks because by the end of the fight I was saying to my brother that Mares is the next big Mexican thing with a performance like that. And then they go and steal it from him by making the fight a draw.

I think overall my point is that you can see how it was a draw. But the problem with this draw is however that you would never find anyone who could actually score the fight a win for the champion. So in that respects I agree Mares got screwed.

Close decisions are not robberies. I happen to think Mares narrowly won the fight, but a draw was not at all unreasonable.

Hell no it wasn't a robbery. I had it 115-114 for Mares, but a Draw was probably about the best decision possible. Both of them deserved the fight, but it ended up a draw. Both still have their "0's" Perez still has his title, we the fans got a terrific fight, everybody wins.
