In any case, I think Agbeko should have a game plan similiar to the one he implemented against Perez the second time. He needs to use movement and angles and avoid slugging it out.

Mares is very tough, and it would better serve him if Agbeko would attempt to make it a slugfest because Mares showed against Darchinyan who is a bigger puncher in my opinion that Agbeko that he can take a serious beating.

Additionaly, Mares stated that his gameplan against Darchinyan was to box him. As you could see, he was immediately thrown off his gameplan by the superior boxer, Darchinyan. Agbeko is an even better mover/boxer than Darchinyan, so I expect Mares to be the aggressor right away.

It should play right into Agbeko's gameplan.

On a side note, I wish this fight was a Darchinyan vs Agbeko rematch.

    brutally stopped ?

he went to war with darchinyan, having one eye and was never really hurt.....beat the man who beat agbeko (got robbed), so how can you say it isn't a coin toss ???

mares has the skills to beat king kong, it's gonna be hard but he definately has the skills to do it...both need to be on their a game cause this fight is definately a coin toss

I disagree. There could be a case for Vic D winning that fight in fact I scored it for Vic D over Mares and so did many others. Agbeko is an entirely different animal than Vic D. His more relentless better movement can box much better and can take a better punch. Agbeko is one of the hardest mother****ers in the sport I mean the guy is just tough. Like Hendo said Mares being the aggressor plays right into the hands of Agbeko which he will make Mares pay for all night long. I'm hoping Mares is the favorite in this fight of so I'm placing a small fortune on Agbeko.:yep

my point is, he's beatable as perez has shown us in the past, which is why i say he has to be on his a game cause mares can, and probably will box this time around because agbeko aint a pressure fighter....we'll see, can't wait !!!

I got King Kong. I think he's the tougher, more versatile and smarter fighter. I'm not sure why the poll is so lopsided at the moment when Agbeko has done better against their common opponents.

if you know mares, then you know he has the skillset to beat him...just depends on what mares shows up...he definately has the heart to brawl too, but maybe he'll check himself this time and use his skills more....we'll see

Mares needs to utilize his speed and fight from the outside. He also has to find a way to get in his good left hooks to the body.

This is a toss-up fight... should be good! the odds are -140 mares +110 agbeko..
mares being the slight favorite... Hey pimpc, since you feel mares has no shot, why dont you put your next pay check on agbeko!??

That just means you don't know your boxing.

Abner didn't even really defeat Darchinyan.

Agbeko will take this fight.......you can take it to the bank.

I feel King Kong will be just a little too tricky for the young lion Mares. This is still a coin flip fight though

I would have thought Agbeko was the obvious choice?

Mares is so physically strong and efficient. He looks like he's ready to take it to the next level with a lot of momentum built up. Agbeko is just a tricky ass guy. He's a sharp shooter with that lead straight right and will throw it more than a jab if the fight dictates. He just has too many tricks up his sleeve IMO. Agbeko by UD. Still will not be surprised by any outcome in this one.
