I'm going with Mares on youth and better boxing skills. Agegbko is a very tough fighter though it should be a good fight. The winner could possibly face Dinaire unless he moves up a division. What say you?

You think Mares has better boxing skills? I'm not so sure about that. In his fight with Perez (II) Agbeko showed better 'skills' (Footwork, punch economy and variation, head movement and counter punching) than Mares did in his recent fight with Darchinyan. I think Agbeko's movement will be a problem. Mares is a fighter who's game revolves around outworking his opponents, he's not like Yohnny Perez, who solely relies on that, but it's a big part of Mares's game. Agbeko has the neccesary skills to cancel out Mares's work rate, with excellent movement and counterpunching. Not only do I think that'll help him stay out of the way of Mares's aggresive onslaught for the majority of the fight, I also think it may deter and discourage Mares from throwing punches and could decrease his output. Agbeko can stay on his feet, slip shots, and counterpunch against the fairly predictable Mares, who's defence is pretty suspect and does not move his head. I can see Agbeko consistently doing this, and although he will likely drop some rounds to Mares's pressure and workrate, will win clearly on the scorecards and will retain his title.

I like Mares in this one, but it's pretty close to a 50/50 fight. I like both guys a lot. Mares is a lot more orthodox and therefore a lot easier to figure out, but he's also a little quicker. Both guys have good workrates when they need it. Agbeko has had some physical problems lately. I suspect the winner will end up being the guy who is just more mentally prepared for 12 rounds of grueling war.

I'm taking Agbeko to win the fight. As good as Mares is, I think Agbeko is better, he's an excellent fighter.

Agbeko is the better boxer and has more skills but Mares has that "IT" factor about him, if that makes any sense. Id take Mares by 8-4 and 7-4-1 type of decision.

If it's a close fight I could see it going to Mares...Golden Boy is promoting the fight and he is one of their rising stars. Agebko is promoted by Don King but I don't know if it is a co-promotion. Anyways I live in Vegas and am hoping to go to the fight..I work at nights so I might miss the main event but I think it's going to be a pretty good scrap.

It's a co-promotion and Don King Productions might even be the main promoter for this fight card... So Agbeko win this... :D

Should be a good fight, I give Mares an edge, but we will soon find out. I would not bet a penny on that fight.............

    really? what's the reason?

i got this 50-50 but if this is true, then agbeko must have some condition.
