Russel need to move down to 122 and fight Rigo. Mares should make a defense then go after Quigg, Frampton or LSC rematch
Not in the least, even if Mares did beat Russell, which I think he could, Loma still beats Mares handily.
Yeah he does, but it shows that GRJ's win is very overrated, by people like me who rate that his best win by far.
It would be far more competitive than the fight tonight, but I think Mares gives him a run for his money.
To be fair, Mares was quite highly rated before he lost to Gonzalez. And to me he looked just as good or better though my memory is obvious hazy since it's been such a long time. I'm still not completely sold on Mares' return yet though, he looked solid against LSC though he clearly lost, but looked really bad after the Gonzalez fight. He did absolutely school Cuellar though, but then again that could just be me overrating Cuellar. I honestly still believe that a prime Mares loses to GRJ though.
Good fight that should happen. Russell takes it I'd say. Mares showed great movement and sharp punching tonight, he has the better brain, and we know he can get down and dirty when he has to, so he's more versatile. But that won't matter because Russell has the greater physical gifts. Mares just won't be able to get close to matching Russell's hand and foot speed. That'll make Mares the target for Russell Cuellar was for Mares.
GRJ hand speed is insane, real boxing fans know that GRJ was loma's best win by far. Loma made the mistake of figthing him before he proved himself, so he wont get credited properly until GRJ starts tearing **** up in the feather division. HE can beat any of those guys.
I like the way you're thinking on this one. Maybe because I was thinking the same thing. Great minds think alike. Had to throw that in there cause it sounded good. lol.
Odd statement. Why have you immediately reflected this onto Loma? Thread asks about GRJ v Mares.. GRJ would KTFO of Mares!
