Good fight.Mares did what he had to do, don't stop putting pressure. His conditioning was excellent .Moreno showed a lot of hearts and displayed his skills .
The fight was closer that what one judge saw.The point taken from Moreno was BS and i think GBP had a lot to do with it.
If mares was fighting Nonito last night the fight wouldn't last 5 rds.Moreno has limited power and was landing often.Everybody who knows a lit about boxing knows this.

Yes. I was also disappointed with Moreno's power, or lack thereof.

Guess he will just have to stay at bw. He's forever lost his (near)p4p status and will probably be back to fighting in obscurity for the rest of his career.

I can see Moreno going back to 118 and taking all the belts. Also, I can see him moving back up in 2 years to take a belt from one of the lesser 122 champs since most of them will be moving up to 126. Moreno has such great skills just doesn't have any pop in his punches at 122.

Moreno hurt him to the body bad on at least three different occasions. His power upstairs was non-existant though.

Moreno wore his trunks lower than most boxers do. Mares was still allowed to go low in every round without penalty.

If Moreno's body shots were hurting Mares like that, Rigondeaux probably stops him. Also Rigondeaux actually does real holding and hitting in his fights, so Mares would be wise to keep it clean.

The scorecards were **** for the most part, But also irrelevant in the end.
Mares took Moreno's spirit away & forced his fight.

The right guy got the nod, People need to chill with the controversy.
& about Mares being a dirty fighter... Look @ the styles of the fighter's he has been accused of being dirty with.

People that dislike discussing the controversy need to chill. You can clearly hear Caiz say "
    This content is protected
" a few moments before taking the point away from Moreno. Abner intentionally hit low, Abner intentionally threw elbows. Abner intentionally hit Moreno in the back - and was going to do it again before Caiz steps in.

If Caiz stopped, or even warned Abner from boaring in with his head every round and constantly, we may have had a completely different fight.

Caiz was a disgrace. Abner his been a disgrace for a long time and takes no responsibilty for his actions. **** why should he draw attention to it as long as he is winning and getting paid.

I can say all these things and still recognize Abner is very talented but I will continue to point his dirty bull**** out, yes I can tell you that Abner is right there with the best of them and has fought many of the best, but all his performances are marred by all of the bull**** he does.

I think Moreno may have been afraid to say anything. He came in with the Lakers gear and just wants to be accepted.

Mares did some great things in there but fouling is an integral part of his boxing and he needs a **** and biased ref to execute his game plan.

So you won't acknowledge the opponents awkwardness against Mares?
The reason Caiz told Abner "I got you" is maybe between RDs Mares corner prob complained about it or in the fighter's meetings before the fight. Just sayin'
(You can speculate so can I)

I anticipated a Moreno win and I was wrong.

As it turns out, Mares did not need any help to win this fight.

But, unfortunately, he got a lot of it.

It's called the "GBP Edge". And he, Canelo and other favourites in the stable will always have it.

No I won't. Moreno's elongated midsection and awkward style had nothing to do with Mares elbows, hitting in the back, hitting low, and boaring in with his head. Abner fights dirty on a regular basis.

How come so many other fighters were able to fight these fighters cleanly but Abner can't fight anybody clean, ever?

Yes, great logic. ****ing "awkward" Bowe was responsible for Golota throwing combos at his balls.
