Mares vs. Ponce De Leon

50/50 fight

 

I think Mares took on too big of a puncher in his first fight at featherweight. Some people say Ponce won against Broner, how's that for a little perspective.

Ponce by knockout.


Then maybe we can finally get Donaire-Mares.

 

Donaire vs Mares would lose major appeal if Mares loses to Ponce.

 

I heard Mares is talking about a move to 130.

He looks way too small imo and he's not carrying big power in his punches either don't see how he can do it.

I could be wrong though

 

Good to see Daniel getting Respect and love in here... Mares is Taylor made for Daniel, he's wild and reckless and leads with his head... Darchinyan was landing lefts on him all night, Daniel will stop him in the mid rounds... He beat Broner ffs at a higher weight at that..

 

PDL is up there with Marquez for being ****ing robbed. Guy is a beast on cutting distance and having heart. Mathysse's inside duck and shoot the right over reminds me of PDL not the other way around

 

mares got balls, ponce is a very dangerous fighter: Puncher with good work rate, not only a head hunter(i remember him landing plenty of punches on broners body) he is naturally bigger and on winning streak again...

 

I think Mares takes it, but I won't be surpised at al by a Ponce win.

I hate when people say someone is taylor made for another. It's just stupid. People were saying the same thing about Canelo/Trout, but Canelo came in with a different game-plan from his usual.

As Mares said "I know judo," you don't know what his game-plan will be. Don't disrespect Mares by saying he taylor made for Daniel. I love both fighters, but I wouldn't disrespect this fight. It's a 50-50 fight in my book. They are both elite fighters and chose to fight each other.

Lol... I hate when people say a fight is 50/50 in their book.. Lol... Gtfo... Just because you like both fighters doesn't automatically make it a 50/50 fight.. Some fighters can be taylor made for others based on styles.. Is that the definite deciding factor? No, but from a statistical standpoint, you could favor one fighter over the other. Does that mean the favorite fighter always wins? No... That's why they get in the ring and fight. But when people make predictions they look at specifics and tendencies to come to that analysis... When I looked at this fight and based it off of everything I know about both fighters. The conclusion I came to was Mares was the type of fighter Daniel has success against... Could I be wrong? Yes... So what... I'll move on and enjoy the next fight..

Mares just knocked down Ponce. You were saying he was taylor made for Ponce right? Like I said, it is just too dumb to say something like that and disrespectful. Mares is still surprising. We can come up with gameplans for anything, but in the end of the day, no one is a boxing expert.
