Mares moving upto.122. This is,a,fight I wanna see. Rigo is a beast but Mares has beaten the better fighters. I could see Rigo dropping Mares early but Mares gets up and it ends up.a war. Mares UD12
Honest opinion i think mares has a better chance than donaire simply because mares likes make rough fights. Donaire is more of a clean counter puncher but when things dont go his way he still sticks to the same gameplan
the problem is Mares is with GBP and Rigo with TR unless Arum retires and DLH goes full time to strip dancing and both companies start working together the fight wont happen. i take Rigo by UD or late KO
No disrepect....but I don't see any fighter getting a UD against Rigondeaux...unless he's dropped or age & all those ametaer rounds catch up to him. Mares...No chance Donaire...Slim chance... Nonito...Rigondeaux is waiting for you....
Yeah I see this too.. Darchinyan's unothordox approach gave Mares problems as well... and Yohnny Perez and Agbeko (the first time) gave Mares tough looks.... so I honestly think Rigo could stop him just by outboxing him But I still don't think Rigo beats Donaire...
The only thing I care about pertaining to Mares is that he beats Morel into retirement and with any luck causes such a pattern of bloody cuts on his face as to make a scar spelling ''******" on his forehead.
I would normally say Rigo by stoppage but from what I hear Mares clearly outboxed Agbeko the second time around and that is huge. Agbeko I always felt was one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. He is tough as hell for anyone. Mares is building himself one hell of a resume and honestly at this time I think it would be unfair to count Mares out as he has fought the tougher opposition and always came out with his hand raised. We saw Rigo struggle against Cordoba who is the only elite fighter he has fought and I will say Mares is much better than Cordoba. I cant favor Mares over Rigo based on his skill but on resume Mares trumps Rigo so I am going to call it a 50-50 fight. We have seen many Cubans that were great amateurs do great up until a certain level in the pros. Now some are successful and there is a very good chance Rigo will be one of those but the Cordoba fight is still stuck in my head....
