A knucklepad is still going over the wrapping used to protect the fighter's hands. Then, you're wrapping over it to secure it and to provide additional protection. The question is whether a used knucklepad could alter the punching surface enough to cause additional injury to a fighter. Given that the pad was already used, packed in, and likely a harder than your standard knuckle pad, I think the answer could very well be yes.

 

People get hung up on the word "plaster", but there are different and more subtle ways to gain an advantage.

I understand I was a huge Margo fan you can ask anyone around here I been since 2007 here, but lets be real what did Margo do since getting caught?? Who did he beat??

 

You know when Lewis used plaster, he/they hollowed out the gloves to make ROOM for said plaster pad which was essentially the knuckle pad and was wrapped on top of the normal wraps. Iirc it was an ounce of material removed from each glove. That should give you an idea of how large the pad was and how much space it needed. Also, hollowing out the glove on its own will make punch impacts stronger as well.That was what ultimately got them caught as the gloves were too stiff, not enough cushion so someone was able to catch it.

Even if Tony had blocks, it wouldn't have done as much w/o hollowing out the gloves.
