Is it me or these guys are right now in the exact same spot. Although Hopkins is HOF and Margarito is not, they both gave amazing performances and now it seems as if they will have a hard time finding opponents, in fairly good divisions. Hopkins will want a rematch with RJJ Margarito wants a rematch with Paul Williams
true, and i didnt give them much chance in either of there last fights, but they both put on great performances. the only thing i would say is margrito lacks something, class maybe?. great performance against cotto but was outclassed at the start, but great heart and put the pressure on. hopkins, on his night is just masterclass!
Margarito has a big ass list to choose from and the only similarities they have are their upsets they had this year.
Not very similar. Hop is a fighter who uses a masterful defense, ring smarts and occasional flashes of speed to beat his opponents. This results in occasionally exciting but routinely boring UDs. Margarito lacks the technical skills and simply comes forward as an irresistible, unstoppable pounding machine. He gets hit plenty. He misses often. But his fights are usually exciting.
They have both lost to guys who are probably better than them in close decisions and they have both just beaten people who are over although Cotto was not so badly over hyped but Pavlik was pathetically over hyped.
Hopkins disarms his opponents - using skills, some legal, others not. Margarito disheartens his opponents - by blocking their best shots with his face whilst running forward and laughing. One is a masterful boxer, the other a sick ******* whom we all love to watch!
