Margarito and Williams

I thought this was a poll on who will win in the rematchatsch

But I do agree with the majority that Clottey is the better opponent

 

Margarito of course. Collazo? Gimmie a break. The dude lost every round to Shane Mosley not too long ago. And I don't wanna hear bull**** about his hand being broken. How does he still not win a single round?

Collazo has had one whole fight since fighting Mosley last feburary. That's right, one fight. Now he's gonna step into the ring with Williams in november, after being out of the ring since january.

You gotta know who is gonna win that fight. Paul better not **** me up and come in unprepared like he did against Quintana though.

 

No big surprise at who's picking Williams or WHO gives a F...

Your not alone in your scrutiny, Ambition. If making weight has become an issue we will certainly see its effects if the fight goes into the later rounds. Also it'll be curious to see if he falls into a false sense of security by thinking Collazo is not a live body.

 

Training camp must be hell on Paul if he is this desperate to get a rematch with Margarito. He's as desperate for Margarito as Margarito is for DLH.

The letdown against Quintana has me wondering if this is the reason. I'm not so sure he'll letdown against Collazo though, knowing what happened last time.

That said, the hopes of getting Margarito again may be dwindling fast, especially if this middleweight posing as a welter cannot make 147 a year from now.

 

I like Collazo and appreciate his talent more than most people, but at this point there isn't much doubt in my mind that Clottey is more dangerous. Of course.

 

Williams' traines says Paul makes weight easily. He even hinted that Paul could make 140. I don't see Paul leaving the divsion for a while

 

Once you hit those late 20s everything changes. He probably makes it now but he's closing in on those late 20s. I know for myself my metabolism hit a wall at about 28.

You're not a pro athlete. Margo is going on 31 and he's been at Welter his whole career. Paul is 26. He's got a good 2 or 3 years left at this division if he wants to stay.

 

True but I don't think it matters much if you are an athlete or not. All boxers are forced to move up in weight once they hit their late 20s. That is, if they have been seriously draining prior.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't think we'll be seeing Paul at 147 in 2 years. He'll definately be at 154, if not 160.

 

Team Williams says he doesn't drain much. He walks around at about 160

 

Right but he's 27. He's on that cusp where you gain lbs.

Tony is a big welter. He walks around at 160 and he's past that cusp. Paul will be walking around at 170 in a couple years, if he doesn't already.

 

Margarito of course. Why should PW take chances? He saw what happened last time he did...
Ha jk. But its no surprise that MArgarito is taking on the tough opposition instead of talking like PW and his promoter tend to do.
