What is everyones take on this, they have taken his license of him for a year.

From what I can work out it's because the padding on his hands were wet, but they haven't said why they were wet or what substance was on them.

This sounds a bit inconclusive to me.

I farked up it's a minimum of 1 year and there's another hearing in March re substance.

Throw the book at him I say, a fighter knows if something is in his wraps that shouldn't be there.

If they are found guilty Margarito & Capetillo seriously deserve harsh bans...might sound too much to some but to me it should be life bans in boxing if guilty.

I don't think life bans are the way to go, simply because he got caught prior to the offence. However, I'm all for 3 years or so...

Last i heard they had definitely found a hard insert that had been placed in there.

Also @ Ipexpress, you say it was done before the offense, but do you really think that was the first time in his career?

Isn't the ban just for the state of California which is where the Mosely fight took place. If thats the case he can still fight in Las Vegas or Atlantic City etc etc so the ban means f#ck all.

No it probably wasn't the first time. But you can only go on the facts.

Francis, the NSAC along with nearly every other commission in the States will recognise the findings of the Californian commission and also impose a ban.

My question is what the **** is happening to the guy working for the CSAC who was present when the wraps where being done? WTF was he doing??!

For sure. Makes you wonder doesn't it? It would be soooo easy to do in Aussie boxing. How many chief seconds go and watch the other team wrap hands? Sweet FA...

You don't get a life sentence for attempted anything. It's just the way it goes.

Pathetic, simple as that. One year? Makes a mockery of the system. Guy is only 30 year old for christ sake!! After the Mosley fight taking a year out would have been a good thing anyway imo.

    This isn't punishment.

It's a ****ing joke, and the sport of boxing is the punchline.

Better than the 6 month ban they handed Judah. That was a total joke, as he probably wouldn't have fought for 6 months anyway.

I still reckon if they DNA tested the substance, they'd find that it'd belong to some Tassie local. :yep
